I'm the kind of student who loves to buy the book ahead of time. Then when I asked if we were going to use the book, he said no. So I got my money back! I have to carry enough art supplies. Here is a photo of the completed project. (This is my first attempt at a picture upload so let's cross our fingers...) These seats were made by Greystone Seating in Michigan. They are VERY well-built and comfortable! You're lucky you didn't have some of my art history classes! For one class, I had to have both H.W. Janson's History of Art and Gardner's Art Throughout the Ages. I was so glad to get rid of it when the semester was over. I seriously don't think I needed to know every great artist since the dawn of time. Plus taking 4 years of art classes prior to that class was enough art history for me. The material was fascinating, as it covered politics, religion, history, and many other related subjects as well. They can convey no real feel or meaning from the painting itself. For real art appreciation all one has to do is go to any one of the famous museums in the world. The National Gallery is probably my favorite in the States. All supposed colleges should make a trip to this museum mandatory if you are taking any art classes! You've got the Met, MOMA, the Whitney, Guggenheim and many others. Plus you have SOHO for all its new stuff. I was also fascinated by all the different architecture. The NGA is certainly run by top-flight people too...they really seem to care about what they do in most all areas.
