Are you taken to the top post (can't see the page header) or is the page just displayed normally. The only time you should be taken to the top post is if it's a new topic since the last time you reset the post indicators. If you aren't resetting the post indicators by clicking on the forum logo twice it won't work. It'll put you on the first post of the first page. Why not have a cookie that just logs last time visited and member information? That way when the user arrives, the forum looks at the cookie and says "The last time they were here was 1 hour and 45 minutes ago". It then makes all posts since then light up those threads. Then, when you click the arrows it takes you directly to the first new post made since the time stored in the cookie. The current Film-Tech cookie tries to take you to the last post you read in any particular thread. Of course the only bug with this would be if you didn't click on a thread during a visit and came back to it a few visits later, you'd only see the new posts since your most recent visit and would have to backtrack a bit. I find the way UBB currently deals with cookies (and a few other things) far inferior to the mighty vBulletin forums. UBB has run it's course.  |  IP: Logged Daryl C. W. Must be one of those Mac-unfriendly things, as the arrows have not been very reliable. I have stopped using them. Another reason why vBulletin is better. It works with everything. Even a Mac. I know you'll probably want to blame a Mac for this, but the fact is, UBB just kinda sucks nowadays (the "non-classic" is even worse). Everything you want to add seems to need to be "hacked in". VBulletin already includes most of these features. I tell ya, it's nice perusing vBulletin forums when they are set up right (not hard).  |  IP: Logged Daryl C. W. I suffered through using Safari in order test it. Works. So now all of you who refuse to use Firefox for some bizzare reason that I cannot comprehend can now use Safari. Same with NN and IE. I presumed some modification has taken place with unintended consequences but perhaps not? Could it be something at this end...cache oddity or whatever? An Manny, Safari just isn't the best available browser, so I choose to hate it. Hate has been proven to solve problems. I also hate OS 10.3 Leopard or whatever it's called. I use it at work and it is way worse than 10.2.8 except for the awesome Expose feature and a few other niceties.  |  IP: Logged
