I didnt want a full on sportbike, they are just not comfortable to me. This bike sits similar to the old Honda CB's and other older standards. It has plenty of power, 98hp on the build sheet. I think its 17 less than the R6 because of a different camshaft profile and fuel injection compared to forced induction downdraft carbs. A naked sports bike can be VERY fun. I actually thought about buying a Honda 919 (the nekkit counterpart of the 929RR). I wound up buying a Road Star Warrior instead. The rumble of that V-twin excites me every time I crank the bike. Besides, a real rider understands that it isn't WHAT you ride, it's that you ARE riding. Personally, I like to have different bikes for different things. Currently I am trying to find a good touring bike, but I can't find a good one in my price range. It saddens me to think that you'd only spend big money on what can be found at less than 1/2 the cost of new.. If you're looking for a decent tourer, in it's true form, check out a VFR. I'm telling you.. since I moved onver to the cruiser market.. I'd like to run across an older Ninja 250 that I could lower to buy for my wife. They are relatively light, easy to handle, and pretty cheap as well. AND, if she, no wait, when she dropped it, I wouldn't sweat it that bad... 120hp.. my '93 900RR dyno'd out at 130 give or take. I'm still of the opinion that the R6 will walk circles around your pretty 'Ninja Turtle'.. ... Ride... Watch.. Listen.. Live... Enjoy. I sure wish I were able to head to Daytona this wknd... The 250 is still in the garage, working on getting it running. I think I'll keep mine for a while, lots of fun last I checked you can get a new one for just under 3K. I dont even think you'd need to lower it, they sit quite low as it is.
