Apparently I got TWO 2005 Chick-fil-A calendars. The Sims 2 Civilization III Complete A crazy easy to use wine opener. Felicity Senior Year (pre-purchased) "Cocktail-opoly" which I'm determined to make into a drinking game. The 2005 Wine Buyers Guide, hopefully I can actually learn something about wine. A really cute shirt I wanted from Urban Outfitters 2 pairs of dress socks. $20 Gift Card to Suncoast (wee!?) A Camelback back-pack for hiking / biking. A cd I kinda wanted. A seat of noise blocking head-phones complete with airline jack in case I ever fly an airline that has music offered. A NICE suede jacket, some shirts, and 6 pairs of pants (will wear them to work) The big unexpected present came on 12/24 while I was at work. A friend in Atlanta sent me a trailer for a 1990's movie! Got to watch my almost 5 year old nephew get waay too much stuff again this year. I gave him 4 presents, and a whoopie cushion. I got to sit back and watch his mom when he pitched a tantrum DURING the opening of presents, and had to go into 'time-out.' Today (12/26) is MY day again. 48 now. I feel it this morning. Got my birthday present most of the night last night.... EDIT: almost forgot! Got an exciter lamp for a Holmes 8 in a tiny little box. Thanks, Bruce! My sister got me an Urban Myth board game and since I'm always using Snopes to debunk my uncle's e-mails, she addressed it to "snopes". My parents got me and every other household a webcam so we can look at each other when we're online. My mom was late on my birthday gift, so a $50 Old Navy gift card was included. One of my roommates bought me a cinnamon roll scented candle and wrote Jimmy at the top of the label. And if you want to count shopping for yourself, I gout myself some things last week from Wherehouse Music and Half Price Books. From Wherehouse I gos Faultline's "Your Love Means Everything", Electronic's "Raise the Pressure", The Verve's "This Is Music" singles compilation, and Placebo's "Once More With Feeling" singles compilation with a remix disc. Fom Half Price I got a new copy of "Rescue From Gilligan's Island", used "Minority Report", and used "Chicago" all on dvd. A handheld movie trivia game for those late nights at the theatre "Scene It" DVD-based game (regular and Disney versions) A smoke alarm (our current one is broken) A "Meet the Parents" DVD A new Lionel flatcar with Union Pacific pickups onboard Gift certificate to my favorite train store (Caboose Hobbies in Denver) and my wife and I bought each other a new entertainment cabinet and big TV to go in it. Now I just need to find some time to watch it. Lord of the Rings Extended Trilogy Dual Layer DVD burner 5 or 6 Stephen Ambrose books. Several WWII books, including one with a bunch of pull out reproductions of soldiers notebooks, vintage maps, War Department publications etc. (The War Department's pamphlet "welcome to france" includes the helpful "what to do if a french girl has thoughts of marriage" section that is as timely today as it was then!) Some other books 3 nice sweaters a pocketfull of gift cards to Starbucks, Best Buy, Bon-Macy's, Suncoast, and Costco Some of those cool silicone bakeware pieces a Gumby DVD (!!!) 2 vintage pin-ups from the 40s. (from my girlfriend) an engraved pocketwatch and most important for a poor student like me: a full belly of warm home-cooked goodness.
