For My 75th Birthday On Christmas, I received

From my wife: a lunch at the River Cafe at Front & Water Streets, under the Brooklyn Bridge, (six including my daughter, a neighbor couple and their son). This posh restaurante on a barge in the East River with a glass wall revealing the Manhattan skyline, gulls hovering under the bridge, and tugs, freighters, ferries and water taxis speeding past, boasts coctail piano with a two-level model trainscape atop the baby grand, served a gourmet menu with wines and a 3-chocolate desert cake in the shape of the bridge with a pyramid of ice cream.
From my daughter: a tour of the "On the Waterfront" locale of pre-Civil War warehouses and sailing-ship cobblestone streets, as well as her Brooklyn Heights street near the Promenade. Also flowering plant marked "Kalanchoe Blossfeldiana Entretien."
From the Neighbors: I received a reception, plus a book "A Modern Arcadia:Frederick Law Olmsted Jr. and the Plan for Forest Hills Gardens" Where I've been the past 40 years,)plus a neat 3-IN-1 Hands-Free LED Headlamp "with a focusable Xenon bulb."

A brand new Sony KDL=L40HVX 40 inch LCD TV complete with built in speakers, digital and high definition tuners. Also, another satellite dish to pick up the HD/digital channels that are now broadcasting over here in Japan. This is the new model with very dark blacks and a viewing angle out to 170 degrees. I love this picture. By the way, Sony is leaving the plasma screen business. I guess they could see the writing on the wall.

An amazing book- " With Scott to the Pole" with large quality reproductions of the polar photographs taken by Herbert Ponting during the expedition of 1910-1913. It's incredible that he managed to take all these plate photos as well as 35mm cinema film , develop and print them in those extreme conditions.

MY granpa has one similar to that. It has a sensor that you place outside and it transmits the outside temperature to you.

Hey all,

I got a great gift for christmas. I got a trip to the ER after threading up a projector and as i was standing up, I caught my head on the screw sticking out of an Ultra Stereo processor. Who designed that? [Smile]

I got 6 staples and 6 stitches put in my head. Best Christmas ever!

My best friend got me "Top Gun" Widescreen Spec. Ed. DVD [thumbsup]

Another friend and his wife took me out for dinner!! [thumbsup]

And I bought myself a bunch of new motocross gear, in prep for my return to racing this summer... [Big Grin]

I was the one who designed the screw for the Ultra*Stereo processor. It took me 6 years and $200,000 of R&D to get it "just right". I'm glad the screw was finally used for what it was designed for.

According to our research at Ultra*Stereo, not yet. It's been in use for over a decade now and your case is the first time the screw was activated. We are hoping for more cases but there seems to be fewer and fewer people in the booth close to the sound racks anymore. This makes me sad.
