Never been much of a sports fan. I've never watched a Superbowl either. I agree that sports heros are way too overrated.

However, I hope that the NC team wins. I'd like NC known for something besides the tobacco capitol.

Well it's halftime now (which I assume will last 2 or 3 hours) and the game has been damn boring so far except for the last 3 minutes. The New England Traitors are 4 points ahead. I am only watching the game since I have nothing better to do with my life. It was either this or drugs. Shoulda chosen the drugs.

I agree Joe...what a crappy production AND game!

It seems like there is more air time for the commercials than for the game.

That's it! I'm going out clubbin' and buy me a bug to eat!

Wow Phil, I can just imagine you at a rave with some crappy ass techno music playing (you the kind... the stuff that repeats 4 seconds of music for 10 minutes) and you dancing to the repetitive beat with tons of strobe lights to fool people into thinking their having a bad-ass time!

They've shown thousands of Monster.com commercials, and I still have no idea what Monster.com is and I refuse to go there. Sounds lame anyway.

Well, at the end of the Half Time crap, we got to see Janet Jackson's bare breast after Justin Timberlake accidently ripped off part of her costume.

When I saw Justin do that, I wondered if it was staged.

Fourth Quarter. Will it ever end?

I second Phil on this one!

Being from Tucson, Lute Olsen and the AZ Wildcats are extremely popular!

But I've got to rock the boat! [Big Grin] [thumbsup]

I am very much against the amount of hype and $$ revolving around college sports, no matter where!

Arizona's economy currently sucks, and Tucson is really in a big jam!

Meanwhile, Lute Olsen and that new football coach are among the highest paid State employees! College jock coaches the highest paid employees! [puke]

People say that their salaries are justified. How, I ask? [Confused] People state that Olsen brings a lot of $$ and publicity to the U of A and Tucson. And so I ask, where is it? [Confused]

So far, we are looking at State-wide tuition increases, degree programs are being cut back, educators earn pitiful wages, etc, etc.! So where is all this $$ that Olsen brings to the U of A? Well, people say, the sports program pays for itself, and the alumni association pais Olsen's salary, so it is said?

Meanwhile, Olsen and his peers earn tremendous bonuses should their athletes maintain bare minimum academic standards! [puke] [Confused] On the other hand, what kind of bonuses do educators get if their students make the Dean's List, etc? A big fat [sex] !

We are always hearing about this misbehaviors of the Wildcat athletes, which are usually covered up. Not to mention that as an "educator", Olsen's graduation rate is not too impressive!

CBS apologizes for breast-baring end to halftime show.

quote:
NEW YORK (AP) -- CBS apologized on Sunday for an unexpectedly R-rated end to its Super Bowl halftime show, when singer Justin Timberlake tore off part of Janet Jackson's top, exposing her breast.

"CBS deeply regrets the incident," spokeswoman Leslie Anne Wade said after the network received several calls about the show.

The two singers were performing a flirtatious duet to end the halftime show, and at the song's finish, Timberlake reached across Jackson's leather gladiator outfit and pulled off the covering to her right breast.

The network quickly cut away from the shot, and did not mention the incident on the air.

It was unclear whether Timberlake intended to expose Jackson's breast.

Wade said CBS officials attended rehearsals of the halftime show all week, "and there was no indication any such thing would happen. The moment did not conform to CBS' broadcast standards and we would like to apologize to anyone who was offended."

The Super Bowl halftime show, which also featured P. Diddy, Nelly and Kid Rock, was produced by MTV, CBS' corporate cousin in Viacom.

"We were extremely disappointed by elements of the MTV-produced halftime show," Joe Browne, NFL executive vice president, said. "They were totally inconsistent with assurances our office was given about the content of the show.

"It's unlikely that MTV will produce another Super Bowl halftime." Source
