Now, I may be in error, but thought that 'indecent exposure' referred to the baring of genitalia, and in some places, pubic hair must also be exposed for it to be an offense for which one could be arrested / detained / fined.

And if you want to get technical, the breast is NOT a genital!

There was a bit of legal spat in the past couple of years in Waterville, Maine relating to indecent exposure. Two young women that were students at Colby College opted to go jogging, topless (bounce, bounce, ouch!) - and were picked up for indecent exposure, but it didn't fly, for the reasons I detailed above.

Plus she had the little star/pastie thing. So she's covered, legally, eh?

That show was so boring and unwatchable that I had dozed off and missed seeing the climactic moment. Halftime shows should be all marching bands and stuff like that.

At our neighborhood Super Bowl party (20 couples), the halftime show was on, but few were really watching. Seeing it happen live, people did a "double take", and immediately concluded that it was deliberate.

The game was much more interesting, as were some of the commercials.

Janet needs to sue Justin and/or wardrobe people.
CBS needs to sue MTV along with Justin and/or Janet.

Otherwise it looks planned.

Justin says it was a "wardrobe malfunction" but it looks like the costume was designed to break away like that. It doesn't look like a rip or anything. Why would Janet need the silver star thing if she didn't plan that?

I saw a blurred clip over and over on CNN and MSNBC but they never show what happened next. Reactions? The emergency cutaway? Supposedly a total blackout?

It really looks like this could have been somebody's idea of a kind-of "reaction" to the Britney-Madonna kiss.

Switching gears a bit... I thought that this was one of the weakest fields ever as far as memorable commercials go. I remember a couple of budweiser commercials being funny (especially the umpire one). But not too much stood out

I thought it was funny that while they were trying to catch the streaker they just went and showed a close up of one of the players... I not sure Vinatieri? Anyway the look on his face was probably funnier to watch than the streaker. At one point he raised one of his eyebrows, it was funny when it happened but it might have just been all of the alcohol in my system.

Seems like the "wardrobe malfunction" caused quite a stir among those with TIVO (apparently, TIVO tracks what people are watching and what they are rewinding!!!)

I have a difficult time seeing Viacom suing itself (Viacom owns both CBS and MTV...)

But the NFL is now saying that they will never have MTV involved with another Super Bowl event again...

Joe's WMVideo clearly shows the deliberate move by Justin Timberlake to pull off that part of Janet Jackson's costume. And why would she wear a pastie unless there was a need to "be under the legal limit" in what was shown? Much ado about nothing for adult and teen viewers, but I'm sure parents with young children watching weren't too pleased.

There's been a lot of outrage on talk radio over the half time show. I was more concerned when the commercial said if you had an erection that lasted more than four hours seek medical attention. Wasn't this something their doctor could alert them to when prescribing the drug.I think this was a hook to get guys to ask for it instead of viagra.

A little skin or talking about a four hour erection please I'll take the skin. i was reading a book during half time and missed it but heard the erection speel.

I can't believe there is anyone debating whether this was planned or not. The question is why she would do something like that or why anyone would think it was a good idea to do it on a worldwide broadcast.
I was watching the game at a party and the only time the kids came in was to watch the half-time show. A dozen kids glued to the TV to watch a bunch of no talents, lip-syncing and grabbing their crotches like someone might steal it.
I believe some heads will roll for this event.
