Also how that magazine was hand carried in a bucket of water on a plane flight back to the lab in hollywood for processing. Would they allow that today....? Panaflex magazines are probably on the list of hazardous materials not allowed on plane flights any more. Perhaps he better stay near "west coast" water in the future..... Anyway its fun to hear these stories from you once on a while . I can't blame you for wanting to slack off. We have too many slackers at work that I have to tow the load for..... so I know all about slackers . I'd buy it. I used to think that I would enjoy getting into the production end of the film business. That was before I found out how many highly talented people end up spending their lives making television commercials and B-grade movies. Some people might enjoy that, but I think I'd go insane. I've enjoyed being involved with film festivals, but it really is depressing in a way. The Centre theatre downtown was having a special premiere screen that Thursday night before regular engagement. To be admitted to that screening, one would have to head on down to "Stereo Warehouse"-a HiFi shop and get your "LifeClock" ticket, which was a stick-on of the jewel that you place in the palm of your hand. You showed your lifeclock and you were in the doors. Place pretty well filled up and the presentation of "Logan's Run", which was presented in 70mm. The Highland drive in in SLC also had Bauer U-2's but never ran any 70mm. ONe of my co-workers was the operator there for many years. I have yet to see "Logan's Run" in a theatre. I'm just not interested... it's not even on my DVD list. It's one of those "OK, I'll watch it on DirecTV" films. Perhaps it may have been the fact that at that time I was in my 20's with 30 not all that far away is why I didn't like the premise of those films. Just thought it was a stupid re-hash of an old and redone many-times premise. New sets, time, etc...but SOS. (Sorry Tim, but...) Interesting about the give away for the tickets/crystals...being in the production side of things, I had no clue about those promotions. During the filming at the MGM stages (If I remember the studio/lot right), those crystals were ALL over the stage floors... just for the "taking"... The only thing that sticks out in my mind about the sets was how physically small the "carousel" was....it was like 15 ft in diameter but look much bigger in the film.
