I've been doing some 3-D stuff lately. Yours looks pretty good, Tommie.

I've been doing it with Blender. The program is pretty tough to use. If you want to check it out: http://www.blender.org

Thank you Randy, may have to add Blender to my collection when I have the cash. I have started to build a Vic 5, although not happy with it. . . .be interesting to see your models?

Maybe i'll be approached by a leading cinema technology company, but for now i'll stay as a humble old projectionist [Big Grin]

Cinemeccanica of France had a Powerpoint program with 3D images in motion of projection equipment very similar to your stills.

Blender is FREE!

Back in the day when video games were young, there was a system called "NeoGeo". Of course, they went under. However they took the program used to design their games, worked on it, repackaged it, improved it and released it as an Open Source program.

The ineterface is rather difficult to wrap your brain around but, once you do it's pretty easy.

I don't have a lot of free time. I work with it only when I get time.
I'll be able to do some good things with it soon.

I don't think Blender had anything to do with the Neo Geo (designed by Japanese developer SNK using the same architecture and chipset as a Sega Genesis, only with some more speed, memory, colors, and more sound channels) since the Neo Geo was not capable of 3D graphics. Unless they added that part completely and just kind of left the 2D graphics and sound stuff stuffed away in the back of the program somewhere.

Randy,

I've also been working on an 3D animated version of the xenon lamp. First one shows the inlet current in action and the second shows the lamp illuminating. You may need the current DivX drivers to view them. Enjoy.

Joe, you forgot about the Micheal Beard factor of the Neo Geo. [Wink]

I still remember shelling out $215 bucks for Fatal Fury 2 back when I had a Neo Geo home console. In comparison, my arcade 2-slot only set me back $400 bucks (got a great deal from a private owner).

Since then, I now use FBA and Powerstrip for my Neo Geo gaming.

Michael Beard is dead. I have the PC Engine Arcade Card version of Fatal Fury 2 which is better than the Neo Geo version and has more Michael Beard. Wolffff, check your private messages.

I read the history and the guy who started Blender named his company NeoGeo. He was a fool.
