Gee, I guess single pneumonia wasn't good enough for you. I'm glad that you hung in there, and are still with us. I have been rather busy, and had been just reading a few threads here on film tech. I was stuned just now when I read this thread. I've got a few extra pounds I'd like to get rid of, you are welcome to them. Get well soon, and I'll buy you another round of beers at Hooters. Registered: Aug 1999 posted 04-09-2006 09:36 PM                     Its 4/10/06. I just finished ANOTHER round of hospital visits. THIS TIME, I discovered I had kidney failure due to the major drugs that I am on for all the other problems that I am having. NOW, I have to go to dyalisis (sp?) 3 times a week to get flushed out. The kidney output is normal, but they cant filter the bad drugs out, and its building up. With luck, in 2-3 weeks, I can stop this shit. They called from the hospital out-of-the-blue on Monday and told me to get over there ASAP. I was feeling just fine, and had been out messing around in my yard (running film will come later) So, I was really worried when I got to the place. They already had a room ready for me when I got to the emergency room entrance. I had some blood work done on Monday morning, and the lab just happened to find the bad kidney output levels. I'm back home, and am really hoping that this will soon be the end of this. So far, 2006 has been a very bad year.  |  IP: Logged Bobby Henderson "Ask me about Trajan." A seemingly unrelated item like kidney failure could potentially go unnoticed in some hospitals. Sounds like they're really working hard to get you well. My hope is your kidneys will make a full recovery. Just try to stay positive and do some things to keep happy thoughts going. Im 30 minutes from leaving for dyalisis (sp?) and am not looking forward to it at all. I get so cold while it is happening that I can hardly stand it. Thanks for all the concerns. Registered: Aug 1999 posted 06-05-2006 02:27 PM                     UPDATE: 6/5/06 Things are looking up! I am off of dialysis now, after 6 weeks of it... 4 hours a day 3 times a week. My kidneys failed due to some high-powered drugs (legal) that I was taking. After 5 weeks, they started to function on their own again. I was thrilled to say the least! This Thursday, The doctors are removing the shunt that is in my neck that was put in for the dialysis. I'll be glad when it is gone, as it bugs me when I try to sleep. My colon reconnection happens on 7/17/06! Yay! Woo-Hoo! The FilmGuard rounds are on ME! They tell me that 6 weeks after the surgery, I should be ready to go back to work. I've told my manager at the theatre today. He tells me that there are several big boulders behind one of the theatres that will need to be moved when I get back. (I hope) PS: If you have never had a colon exam using a camera, be very glad. Even with lots of nice drugs, (again, legal,) it is the most excruciating pain I have ever endured. The doctors found nothing remarkable, so here we are!!! Thanks for all the pep-talks! I do appreciate it so much! I'm having the surgery 2 weeks before my family's big reunion party.
