I'd just like to see it on my big TV screen rather than download a Quicktime trailer off Apple's site to my notebook.

I guess there's some hope the Playstation Network may carry it. Unless Apple pulls some "exclusive" shenanigans.

Yeah and it'll probably be in the wrong aspect ratio on YouTube.

I noticed in Cloverfield at least once when they showed a TV set ... even the TV in the movie had the fat-face stretched picture thing going on. Oh well, I guess they were trying to add realism.

I'll bet that it will be on the web within a few hours after the depots send the prints out to the theatres in the morning since most of this weeks releases open on Thursday.

It'll likely be in the same aspect ratio it appears in on a 4:3 TV. And it'll likely be just a bunch of zooming words with a few quick shots of footage and maybe a one-liner near the end. Things like that shouldn't be called "teasers". They should be called "antagonizers" or perhaps "angrifiers". The Batman Continues "teaser" was a prime offender.

Well they were guilty of doing that for Temple of doom, if I recall, the teaser was just following the red line on the map, and scrolling text of the cast and crew. The Teaser for Last Crusade was pretty awesome as it featured behind the scenes footage which is pretty rare.

All three of our locals are very guilty of this as well. Why do they have to switch out to SD?

I'm surprised it has taken this long to get our first trailer. The movie's release is only three months away.

Ah, the infamous teaser that I imagined! That's Lucasfilm's opinion, anyway.

As the Indy fans are well aware, the "Temple Of Doom" teaser is NOT present on the "Indiana Jones" DVD set (unless it's an "easter egg" that I cannot locate). Anyway, when the DVD came out, I contacted Lucasfilm to ask about the omission, and, unbelievably, their response was that there was no such trailer! Well, duh, it's on the original "Raiders" video tapes and discs issued in late 1983!

Giving Lucasfilm the benefit of the doubt for a moment, is it possible this teaser in question was made up just for the video? I don't have any recollection of seeing it in a theater.

(Even if it was a video-only trailer, I think they still should've put it on the DVD set 'cause it was cool, with the traveling map bit highlighting the filming locations and closing with Indy's classic "Trust me" line.)

I distinctly remember playing the teaser in the theatres for the TOD...what was on the laserdisc was what was shown in the theatres.

Coate: I have a 35mm print of the teaser... so it exists. IIRC, it was just Text and the map stuff, I dont recall Fords line... but I could check it out to be sure.

I remember that trailer. I remember that even though there weren't any scenes from the movie in it it was still pretty cool to me when I was a kid. I watched it on the video tape over and over again.

Did the teaser even air at all on Good Morning America? I watched between 7:00am and 8:00am CST. Didn't see it.

Our trailer came with all of this documentation saying that they wanted to make sure that the big screen was the first place people would see the trailer. Is it possible that the GMA thing was postponed?

Last night I built up Step Up 2 The Streets. I programmed the new Indiana Jones trailer last, just in front of the feature. (Yes, I cut the attachment off but programmed it to the FIRST of the trailers as that movie opens first. I program my trailers in order of release dates...Indiana Jones being the last one released in that trailer reel.) We screened that movie, I watched the trailers...
I definitely must watch Indiana Jones 4 when it opens on May 22, likely May 21 if Paramount gets the prints out in time.
The first thing that struck me was how old Harrison Ford looks now. One of my co-workers thinks he's 67. It has been 19 years since Last Crusade, so he could easily be pushing 70...
I will screen this, and unlike Step Up 2, will sit and watch the whole thing. (I had a couple of teen employees who wanted to see this on a school night.)
About the whole title on the marquee...
I recall an incident at the UA in Lubbock...the marquee there was more than adequate to handle the names of a couple of the actors and the title of the movie, and we were expected to put those up there. Then we book "GORP." One of my fellow ushers said "Marquee will be a snap! This movie has no-name actors in it and a short title! I'll be done fast!"
The manager made him put up the blurb that was on the poster.
The marquee read as follows:
