Different spelling, so I'd say not. Maybe you're thinking of Michael Reagan, the radio talkshow guy. The last time I saw them live was around August of last year. The little venue was PACKED! I could barely see the bands for a good part of the show. Bands that also played were What Laura Says Thinks And Feels and This Will Destroy You . Only caught the last few songs of Whats Laura says.. And as for This Will Destroy You their first few songs were ok but not too great the rest of their set was pretty good. The Lymbyc Systym (Experimental / Club / Shoegaze / Electronic... or what I like to call futuristic porno music! ) set was off the hook! They also played a couple new songs but mainly their classics. Recently I purchased their Remix Album that just released a couple weeks ago... Loved it!!.. couldn't stop listening actually. The concert rocked. They had been separated for an exact decade and they got together for one last tour. They rocked the entire american continent, from Buenos Aires to LA. They sold out 6 River Plate stadiums that fit somewhere around 65,000 to 70,000 people. Packed venue and plenty of security guards. There were 7 bands that played tonight but I was only there to see Yellow Minute and the headlining band Dear and the Headlights. My friends from the band Attack of the Giant Squid played with Yellow Minute... which was pretty cool to see them do something different from their own music. Very nice set and the crowd seemed to enjoy it. Dear and the Headlights were freakin' awesome... My friends who've never heard them before loved them. I am very pleased.  |  IP: Logged Scott D. I was blown away, much greater than I expected they'd be live. He seemed fine I suppose, didn't seem stifled at all. The show was absolutely amazing! I'm disappointed that my auditing schedule isn't bringing me to places they're playing during the right dates or else I'd go see them again. If I had more time to sit in front of my computer I'm sure I'd have already geeked out about them and found EVERY live bit and recording I could... I'm definitely missing the higher energy of their live performance vs. the studio, not that I don't love me some mid-tempo...  |  IP: Logged Jennifer Pan THE JEN! Posts: 1219 From: Denver, Colorado Registered: Nov 2003 posted 10-22-2008 01:12 AM                        I just came back from going to the Secret Stand Up Myspace show at the Tempe Improv, headliner was DAVID ALAN GRIER! The guy from In Living Color... Great show altogether, the bf and I went there a little early to grab food and such. Was given the center 2nd row table... Had a blast!! As each comedian went on they only got better and better. Especially the 3rd guy who I can't remember his name at the moment was hilarious. As for David Alan Grier.... well... he was awesome! I didn't expect him to be so animated since he's getting to that middle aged thing but he was like a kid. Had a few quick improv moments with the audience too. Holy Crap were they great. I usually end up rolling my eyes whenever an act tries to get the audience involved (usually because it fails miserably) but apparently Decemberist fans are a fun bunch because when the audience was asked to clap or sing along boy did they. Also I really enjoyed that they took some songs that are otherwise snoozy and made them ROCK. I think they had just a great energy where you could tell they LOVE to perform. So good. I'm tempted to fly to Portland and see them on their home turf. Been to three in the last ten days: AC/DC at the Wachovia Center in Philly - great show...Joe, they still have the cannons though I am not sure you got the name of that song quite right. Brian Wilson - Last Saturday - The old man still has a little rock and roll left in him. It was at the Keswick Theater...an old movie theater with the best acoustics I have ever heard in a concert venue. Perhaps that why they don't take down the cruddy looking curtains that line the walls. The Eagles - Wachovia again, last night - They still sound great. I saw them at Clutch Cargos in Pontiac, MI, during the tour promoting The Crane Wife. The Rout of the Patagons Tour, I believe it was called. It is a good band for nerds when you have to be interested in anthropology to get the name of the tour. Colin Meloy is about the biggest nerd you can be as the frontman for such a major band. He used better than a dozen different guitars, sometimes switching in the middle of some of their more epic songs. Some would say that is silly, but I have a friend who is a guitar aficionado, so I would not.  |  IP: Logged
