Were this my car, no way am I fixing it. I'd drive around and when people asked me what happened to it, I'd just say "bear" and drive away.

The story from the Beeb: US bear takes short ride in car and leaves it wrecked

Okay... So I'm tuning up the B-Chain, making with the pink noise and all that...

I start getting phone calls asking what all that loud noise is and how can they make it stop. I got fed up with explaining what pink noise is for and why I need it so I just made up a sign to put on the auditorium door.

Problem solved! [Big Grin]

I was just finishing up replacing a Dolby CP65 about a year ago and the floor staff started letting people into the auditorium before I had finished resetting levels. An old lady kept shouting up to me to turn it down. I told her I'd be done quickly, I just had to set the sound levels. She shouted back that it was too damn loud. Thanks for that, but you're not my goddamn SPL meter now get out of the auditorium if it bothers you! Of course I didn't say that, but I wanted to.

I don't expect the public to understand about sound system calibration but theater staff should have a basic idea of what's going on.

I don't expect them to understand how pink noise generators work but anybody who has worked inside a theater for any length of time should know what "SPL" means or at least they should understand that some guy makes a lot of noise in the theater every once in a while.

No!... Run a little pink noise in this theater and it's a federal case! [Roll Eyes]

They were supposed to be showing Despicable Me.

So that does mean that they cannot "shoot" the film? [Big Grin] Is it a Digital venue or a film venue?

Film, I'm sure.

I was hoping to get a look inside -- it looks like a pretty nice little theatre. Maybe Mark G. has been in it.
