In fact, I never heard the movie sound this good before. The sound throughout the wilm was well placed and was clear including the dialogue. The post converted 3-D was amazing and consider it just as good as AVATAR and HUGO which were both native 3-D productions. It's possible the IMAX version has a different mix. The odds are the Regal sound system was better than the sound system you saw it on in 1993. The reports I've been hearing from people who have heard it is that it is nowhere near as good as the original mix.  |  IP: Logged Steve Guttag We forgot the crackers Gromit!!! A very painful mix to be heard and I ran a premier with those telling me that is how it should sound. We had a lot of complaints about it during the show too. Clearly they were wrong. To me, the original JP mix is one of those perfect mixes. Amazing fidelity and dynamic range. An example of something that can get very loud but never be fatiguing. Even in the quiet moments, it shines. The archeological dig at the beginning is a great example of this. Voice also always came across as crystal clear. If it didn't make you want to leave the theatre...then it was YOU who didn't have a good tuning/sound system. It is the first time I ever had to leave the theatre during the run through because I couldn't take the sound.
