You almost had me there! I started thinking about how this was comparable to watching a projector under a strobe, etc. But then I realized:
You shouldn't see any 24fps effects anywhere other than inside the projector head between the intermittant and a constant-speed sprocket. Everything else should be smooth continuous motion.
