I'm not talking about literally calling a person's name. I wouldn't have the slightest idea going through a list of techs eliminating him (and potentially causing him business) simply because he's a tech at some drive-in and Florida ... and ... oh my freaking God ... he was Manny's old tech in the Bahamas. Yet, you are publicly chastising someone on this forum for simply asking a question. This thread is getting ridiculous. I'm certainly not a buddy of Richard's (in fact I've publicly disagreed with the way he handled a customer problem) ... but I'm certainly not out to prove that he's such a horrible person as a result. Goodbye rear elements. -Monte  |  IP: Logged Brad Miller Administrator Posts: 17775 From: Plano, TX (36.2 miles NW of Rockwall) Registered: May 99 posted 05-04-2005 11:15 PM                     The core facts here -- -- Leader that is permitted to touch the floor when threading is one of many potential bad film handling practices. -- Manny's tech friend told Richard (for whatever reason) that it was fine to let the film touch the floor when threading. -- Richard's booth has some pretty bad conditions to work in. -- The condition of a particular booth, or whether the tech is a friend of Manny's or not, is in no way a valid reason to INTENTIONALLY practice bad film handling. -- Regardless of whether Richard is the world's worst projectionist or not...at least the guy is TRYING to improve things! Sheeeeesh people, cut the guy a little slack. The real issue here is that his tech is TELLING him to practice film done wrong. Enough is enough.
