Or were they going to do that computerized 2D into 3D bs? If it were actually shot in 3D, then it would be a shame to not have it released that way, at least in the few 3D installations available. It appears that Readings is advertising the film as in 3D yet the official Sony "This Is It" website makes no reference to 3D anywhere. Its very easy to see where confusion enters when there is this type of unqualified advertising. Have you heard any info from other cinemas that are claiming to show this film in 3D? I suppose that if Imax developed a new system for showing films with two interlocked 8mm projectors that would be called 'in Imax' as well, even if it had been filmed with a 9.5mm camera.  |  IP: Logged James. It is true that some sequences (3 actually) were shot with 3D, but in the interest of who knows what...probably time constraints I'd imagine, Sony have decided not to release it in 3D but only 2D. Lots of interlocks is my guess.
