That last one has me thinking of the Chef Vader character from South Park. Yeah, that change was unnecessary.

I just threw up in my mouth a little. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooo is right. I always thought fan edits were a little anorak-y but that NOOoooo is the back-breaking straw for me.

Wow! This really has to be one of his worst decisions!
George must think this will be considered brilliant decades from now but what a slap in the face to real Star Wars fans who have already been slapped silly!

This tweak ruins one of the few really good scenes in Jedi. There's also talk out there that the Ewoks now blink their eyes and that the big door to Jabba's Palace is now an even BIGGER door. Ridiculous.

How long will it be before Lucas adds the Emperor and "The Imperial March" into the original movie (Episode IV)?

As much as I'm opposed to the revisions, the one "fix" I would like to see is adding the radar dish to the Millennium Falcon in the establishing shot of the Docking Bay 94 scene. The thing has been missing since Day One and somehow has eluded each "restoration" project. (It's the shot right before Luke says, "What a piece of junk.")

So they are replacing puppet Yoda in episode 1 with CGI Yoda? They need to replace puppet Yoda in ESB and Return of the Jedi with CGI Yoda as well. They should also make Obi-Wan have newly filmed memory flashbacks to his Ewan McGreggor days in the original Star Wars... a CGI Ewan McGreggor, of course.

The blinking Ewok actually makes it look more real. That one doesn't bother me.

I don't get the point of the really large door to Jabba's palace.

I can understand Lucas fixing things that need to be fix - blinking Ewok is one example. But adding or changing dialog changes the story. Just leave it alone.

He must just sit in his massive screening room with an iPad, watching the saga over and over, typing in ideas for changes. Pretty sad when he could be making some new movies.

How about this, George? Combine Episodes 1 and 2 into one movie, 3 & 4 into one movie, and so on. That way each installment would be about four hours long, but that's OK because they will be epics! Call it "Star Wars: The EPIC SAGA."

And maybe I over-analyze things sometimes but I see it not just ruining the flow and feel of a fantastic scene, but also creating a plot hole.

If the Emperor hears his literal right-hand man uttering "No!", why would he just sit there shooting lightning at Luke as if nothing had happened? If he's a powerful mastermind, he'd be able to tell that Vader's outburst was him being defiant against what was going on. Sidius can't be both a genius and a moron, unable to figure out what "no" means.

I don't think Wicket's blinking bothers me. Yet. I'll have to see if the mass scenes of Ewoks are now distracting because they're all blinking at us. I guess we'll see on that one.

The huge Jabba door... I don't get that. The shot looks awkwardly composed. Majorly awkwardly composed. What does that add to the story? I'm not sure I understand why you'd spend what I'm sure was thousands of dollars to create that scene.

If he went through and made all of these little tweaks, and yet STILL (for about the fourth time of restoring) didn't fix Obi-Wan's dying lightsaber, and all of the little jump cuts in Episode IV, I'll be pissed.

Mind you, I don't think those things NEED to be fixed in order for the movie to be good, but when you say "FIX" - my assumption is that you're addressing things that are "BROKEN" to begin with. The Ewoks not blinking wasn't broken. Lots of animals don't blink in real life so what's the problem? I never found myself not believing the Ewoks were real because they didn't blink. I never thought to myself, "Hey, this Jabba guy doesn't seem so bad, check out his cute little metal door." I never thought Vader's performance at the end of Jedi was unrealistic because he should have been shouting something there. But I HAVE thought to myself, "Wow it looks like Obi Wan's lightsaber has bad batteries in it or something" - - - and I thought that WHEN I WAS EIGHT YEARS OLD. Despite that, I still loved the movie as an 8 year old, and I still love the movie today.

George, with all due respect, I don't understand you anymore. I can appreciate the fact that you sit at your ranch or where ever you are and continue to tweak your movies as you see fit until your heart's content. I appreciate that. I really do. They are YOUR movies, and it is your money. But damn it, you're someone who has the ability to do those things partially thanks to me and millions of other people like me who loved the movies the way you created them the first time. We gave you the ability to sit there and do these things and make yourself happy. So go ahead, and make yourself happy. But one would THINK that a decent person would at least have the respect to give the fans, who have provided you and your companys' income over the last 30 years, what THEY want. One would think you would respect US enough to do that. Lord knows we have given you enough money to finance whatever restoration and clean up of the originals is necessary to create a great Blu-Ray release of the original movies, untouched. But even a mediocre HD scan of an IB PRINT of Episode IV would work as far as I'm concerned. I heard a rumor of a single IB Empire once, but that may have been an error on someone's part. Jedi's LPP prints from 1983 look fantastic still to this day. I don't even care if the prints you use still have a little dirt around the reel changes, although cleaning that up would be the least you could do. Why you continue to insist on poking us in the eye instead is beyond me. I used to have a TON of respect for you when I was a kid. I used to want to be like you when I was growing up. Star Wars, in many ways, ignited a huge passion for film in me, and that passion is as strong as ever today. But now, most of that respect is gone. And I know I'm not alone. I know NO ONE who respects what you're doing to these movies. NO ONE. Do you? Who do you have in your circle that is telling you that this is all a great idea? If there are people telling you that, they are LYING. I don't understand you, George. I used to. You can change that and gain your fans' respect again. Or you can continue to live in your bubble and insult your fans. So far, you've been doing the latter, and that breaks my heart.

Sorry for the rant. It just sort of spilled out of me. Pent up frustration, I guess.

Lucas: "Steven, you should replace all the shots of the puppet in E.T. with a CGI character."
Spielberg: "Cool. And you should go back into all of the Star Wars movies and replace the light sabers with kid-friendly walkie talkies."
Lucas: "Cool."

I really hope whomever has the IB prints or any print of the OT for that matter really take care of them because it looks like more and more every day, they are going to be priceless pieces of film history. If George keeps up this anti-original mentality, as does Lucasfilm, people 100 years from now will never even know the originals existed. From a historical preservation perspective, that is simply wrong.

The Ewok blinking doesn't look right. How many frames does a person take to blink in real life? Maybe 2 film frames, max? These Ewoks are taking what seems to be 6 or 7 frames to blink. The eyelids look very CGI. It's like they are blinking slower than they should be just so that we notice them blinking.
