Coke and Pepsi don't taste the same. The are both colas so of course there are general similarities. Besides Coke having more bite while Pepsi is milder and sweeter there is also a difference in flavor. Michael: Did Africola go out of business? Actually, give me some HoJo Cola. Pepsi has all teh 'bite' while Coke is the sweeter or the two.... I still prefer Dt. Mtn Dew to any other drink.. Then Diet Coke or C2. Pepsi is easily the sweeter of the two. Anyone who can't tell the difference between Coke and Pepsi needs to put in for a taste buds transplant. Pepsi is much sweeter than Coke. Haven't tasted quite the same since glass bottles went away, either. Not to mention plastic bibs .. ewwww. Pepsi is definitely the more sweet of the two .. always has been. What's the mix (brix) for each? I guess you would also need to take some syrup samples and let the water content dry off. But if what is left is mostly just sweetener and taking into account the mix formulation it should be easy to compare the amount of sweetener per unit of the final product. Sugar-free drinks (and Mr.Pibb) have a 5.5 to 1 ratio on the brix. The funny thing about it is Coke sent me rolling stock for the 1st 8 months we were open. Coke is very balanced, with no variations. Pepsi, to me, seems all over the place. I'd sell Royal Crown or even better, one of the many generic store brand soda varieties. Food Lion has the best. If I got to choose from any soda it would always be Regular Coke. If I go to a place that serves Pepsi it is Diet Pepsi for me, the regular stuff is WAY too sweet.
