I have been to alot of places that sell Coke and Dr Pepper. The Cinemark I used to work at had both, then they switched to Mr Pibb. McDonalds has Coke and Dr Pepper, so what is it? Certain precautions must be taken for such a test, one being that the tasting samples should be mixed from the genuine syrup, with the proportion of syrup to water and carbonation strength precisely the same in each batch, and served up in squeaky-clean glasses, not cups. Perhaps similar to wine-tasting. One of my doctor friends vigorously asserts that as to wine, just buy the cheapest as all wines are basically alcohol. He says in a true blind test conducted under the scientific method it is impossible to tell the difference. I think it was done at Yale where he majored in bio-chemistry, then went on to Yale Medical School. Too much consumption of soft drinks,. mostly very expensive sugar water, is not good for us, plain water is much better. Many soft drinks contain caffeine which is mildly addictive. If you need a jolt, a 200-mg. caffeine tablet, such as Vivarin, will do the job at a much lower cost... equal to about two cups of coffee, which I don't like, but occasionally it does no harm. Take pencil and paper and do some figgerin' and you may discover that a gallon of soda pop, sold @ retail price, costs far more than gasoline!! Profits in the soft drink biz are astronomical. Before Croaka-Cola was invented, people weren't so overweight. The original formula contained cocaine which made the product highly addictive, thus the name "Coke." And who can forget the wine-tasting sequence between Peter Lorre and Vincent Price when they did "The Cask of Amontillado" in one of the AIP horror trilogies!  |  IP: Logged Jeremy Fuentes Mmmm, Dr. Pepper! The difference is obvious. A blind test can be if you go to a restaraunt and order Coke, and they bring you Pepsi, assuming thats what you meant. BTW, I wouldn't be caught dead even knowing anyone who couldn't tell the difference between Coke and Pepsi in a blind test. To me it's like the difference between a Lexus and a Kia. Same goes for those who can't tell the difference in a blind test between white and red wine, Calvin Trillin (New Yorker magazine) notwithstanding. Track down his great tounge-in-cheek article about this in the New Yorker Food Issue in August 2003. BTW, if you don't like sugar and caffeine loaded drink products, Shut Up! Jolt is made by 'one of those' discount bottlers that Coke has spent hundreds of millions (billions?) of dollars trying to differentiate itself from.
