Author Topic: rant on stupid customers Mike Blakesley Film God Posts: 12767 From: Forsyth, Montana Registered: Jun 99 posted 08-13-2018 12:32 PM                        Had a guy chew us out on Friday for our website listing the "wrong show." But, he had looked at the site on Thursday, and we changed movies on Friday. Our site has the ending date for each movie (in two places - above the poster image, and just above the showtimes) and we update the site each Thursday evening after the last show starts. So he must have looked at the site on Thursday JUST before we changed it for Friday. So it was really his mistake. So long as people are civil, we don't mind explaining (again) that the movies don't always stay here until they get around to showing up. We don't generally answer the ones who get nasty. If it's bad enough, we boot them & move on. Dave, I think we look at "the rules" in much the same way. I know an owner in another state, who has all of his rules posted before and after you pass through the boxoffice. There are so many "don'ts" there, you're paranoid before you get parked. "Someone on facebook said...." and so on. When we first started going there, there were no signs of any kind anywhere, except for "No trespassing" on cattle fence gates. In the intervening years that lake has been developed into a state park and gotten a lot more popular, and it's downright amazing how many caution, danger, don't-do-that, warning and other intricately detailed signs there are about how and where you can or can't do stuff. We used to just put the boat in and go. Our Fandango listings are all screwy but they're radio silent. Are you asking if the theatre is wheelchair accessible? "Esss." The theatre is wheelchair accessible. The guy is in his '70s and talks like he has a mouthful of marbles. You literally can barely understand a word he says, and he's also a bit hard of hearing. Plus, he usually doesn't really know how to describe what he wants. It's a real challenge to wait on him. I did have a group of several little kids all about 7 or 8 years old this afternoon for a birthday party. They lined up to get their popcorn and all of the little boys kind of pushed their way to the front of the line. A young couple brought their baby to the show tonight. Just a tiny baby. Humph... well hopefully it doesn't start crying. The guy just came out a couple of minutes ago while the show is on to get some popcorn. He's carrying the baby and I see that they have put some red construction earmuffs, the type that you use when operating a jackhammer or other loud machinery, on the baby. The earmuffs are bigger than the kid! A baby has no place in a cinema. It can easily get scared by both the impressions on screen and the loud sounds, even if you put some construction-grade earmuffs on it... and who does that anyway?
