Without ebay, film cell sales would probably be killed by more than 90%. It looks like licenced material from the studio. Remember the studios releases Special Editions for the home video market with a frame or two from that movie. Warner Home Video released "My Fair Lady" with 70MM frames in a Special Laser edition. Many Special Deluxe Edition Lasers releases had them in the US market. If the clip is from a good condition 70mm print, the print has either been scrapped, or someone has cannabalized it. If the clip was especially printed as a collectors item, you cry that distributors are willing to print 70mm for that, but not for theatrical release.  |  IP: Logged Bill Gabel Film God Posts: 3873 From: Technicolor / Postworks NY, USA Registered: Jan 2002 posted 09-08-2004 12:55 PM                     Maybe the said reels were originally printed for release. but were rejected because of a defect. We go though reels when we do print checks with DP's, Directors and Producers , that have just come from the labs. These print reels are screened for each DP, Director and Producer so they can sign off on the final answer print before the lab starts the print run. Those extra reels get trashed. Those 70MM reels might have been rejected by Lucafilm and then cut up for some past Special Edition video release. Right now I'm running a print stock test for a project.
