Just hearing the term "crotch rocket" induces a slight "tee-hee-hee-hee-hee"! I've never owned a motorcycle, but my two younger brothers always had them when we were teens. Every time I got on one, it seemed, something happened. Once, it required stitches. Another time, I nearly broke my neck and was out cold for about a minute. Presently, my baby brother just bought a new big road bike and I won't even attempt to drive it. I'm too afraid it will fall over with me. A guy was backing out of a restruant parking lot right into the path of group of motorcyclist forcing them to take evasive acton in order to avoid a collision which caused the front two motorcycles to crash (each carrying a passanger). The driver knowing that he f*ck up big time actually jumped off a bridge into the river to avoid getting his ass kicked by all the harley riders. I'm really not one for noticing motorcycles... but today I actually saw one that looked kinda cool without looking like it was all plastic. Motorcycles just aren't for me... my mom worked in the E.R. when I was growing up so all I ever heard about was motorcylce accidents and strange stories of what people shoved up their butts that day and how many people came in with severed body parts. Need I say more? Scott, Rain does not stop a true rider. Snow and ice only slow us down. That's what studs are for. Easy Paul... I mean tire studs.... Fortunately enough for me, it never gets too cold to ride where I live.. As for all of you out there who proclaim that motorcycles are dangerous.... bullshit. The IDIOT on the bike or the IDIOT in the cage is where the danger factor comes into play. A properly attired, trained and seasoned rider is a MUCH better asset on the road than any of the morons with licenses in cages. One can never express the true fun and exhilaration of being on a bike, riding, enjoying all that nature has to provide to one who thinks that bikes are dangerous because the uneducated public deems them so. Pfffttt.. Anyone who has ridden motorcycles will almost always be a better driver in a car, simply because you have to FOCUS on the road and traffic on a bike. I ride in anything except when the roads are iced over. I have a nice rainsuit and waterproof boots, so after I ride in the rain and I get to wherever I'm completely dry. The bandana thing was for Spooner, I wasnt actually riding. I am looking into taking the ABATE program offered by the state.
