Joe Redifer You need a beating today Posts: 12859 From: Denver, Colorado Registered: May 99 posted 03-22-2004 03:38 AM                        I was sent an e-mail not long ago that requested I upload the following two drawings I forgot I ever did. I did them at the theater and I only worked on them for about 20 or so minutes each. Quality wise they both suck. This isn't a bad charicature, but it sure is a crappy scan! Another crappy scan and not a great charicature. Oh well. I was not able to use my trusty mechanical pencil for these drawings, and it shows. Bobby kicks ass as an artist. Wood pencils are great for pencil fighting, although some prefer to gnaw on them like beavers. If you want to see mechancial pencils in all their glory, just visit Japan. You'll lots of techie anal-rententive methods on mechancial pencil design. Little interchangeable spring loaded leads. See through designs. Interchangeable handles. Hell, there's probably some that have beeping lights on them. Want to use something meant for a masochist? Try using an old fashioned ruling pen. It looks like a pair of big metal tweezers. You drip india ink into it and run it along the edge of a ruler. The challenge is to try to do it neatly. Tools like that and the Haberule are just a few of the things graphic artists used to have to endure to pay their dues. Guess what my favorite band was! Currently building a Stirling 6 cylinder radial engine model out of stainless steel and brass. I'll see if I can post pics of the project as it progresses. If ya'll look up Stirling Engines on E-Bay, there are regular multiple listings for a book on building Stirlings. Whew! Holy smokes! Below is my best art work. I did it about a year ago and it displays my great art talent. It's a mechanical pencil drawing of myself and two of my friends... Daryl and Manny. Enjoy... And then I did another one with myself and 2 more friends, Brad and Josh: (As you can see, this one came out much better than the 1st one I did) Then I did another one with 2 more of my friends, Joe (you) and Chris. It was very similar to the ones above. Gosh! I'm soooo self-centered since I'm in all of them. People are talented in here. My last attempt at "art" was drawing a dinosaur, but it came out extremely anemic. THankfully I ripped it in shreds to save me the embarrassment of having it to post now. I've never been good at spacial concepts. Even my woodshop skills in junior high school sucked. Making simple rectangular boards were a challenge.
