It looks like an RCA1040. The clue? The drawing depicts a fairly large "window" in the film-compartment door, which is the RCA style. The Simplex SH1000 had a much smaller "window". It is... a Simplex E-7 head, a Peerless Magnarc type "E" lamphouse (a type "F" without the observation port on the back), a Simplex heavy duty base, and, an RCA 9030, missing the motor cover, door handle, and the chrome trim strip below the window. Come to think of it, the soundhead I drew would look more like an RCA 1050. The motor in the illustration sports a flywheel; there was no flywheel on the 1040. The area where "talent" comes into play is just how you express that skill. You have to be able to think visually. You have to be able to organize concepts into a form that both communicates effectively and in the asthetic way intended. There are some general guidelines in terms of color use, composition, etc. that can be copied by anyone. To be artistically original, or to be able to "break rules" with good results you need talent. Talent will also translate into another form: efficiency. Those with talent will formulate good and interesting visual ideas faster and be able to get them executed with more efficiency and higher levels of quality.  |  IP: Logged
