I'm still waiting for the White Sox to play the Brooklyn Dodgers...

Hahaha! [Big Grin] Actually, I'm really not that big of a sports fan, only keeping up with (i.e., paying attention to playoff reports on the news) college basketball and the occasional World Series. Football does nothing for me. I knew absolutely nothing about sports until I entered the broadcasting field, where I became the de facto sports report guy at my first station.

Looks like a strange hybrid of Joe Redifer and Mathew Broderick.

That would only be funny in that thread if there were a similar picture of me looking at my profile doing something retarded. Getting a picture of me doing something retarded is pretty easy. Getting a profile of me is not.

World Series game one: Red Sox beat the Cardinals 11-9. [thumbsup]

I'm not even going to mention anything about the shitty playing that took place...I'm just happy they won. [Razz]

I dont care about any sports. I can find other things to spend my time on than watching a bunch of guys throwing, hitting, kicking or doing whatever to a ball.

This is somewhat how I feel about sports in general too. I'd rather be out hiking somewhere.

As for the Red Sox and baseball on general....

I lost all respect for baseball years back when those girlie men, weanies, good for nothins, over paid bastards, or what ever you want to call em went on strike. Today I root for the ball park instead of the teams and the ONLY one to go to is beautiful Wrigley Field, the last GREAT ball park left. The food there is really good too.
Lets see, the last game I went to was when Harry Carey was still the announcer there......

I'm not too big on baseball either, but enjoyed playing it as a kid. But as long as its not the Yankees winning again and agian, I'm happy. I'll be rooting for the Red Sox in this series.

I stopped using red sox, they would run when I washed them, and I ended up with pink underwear (not good).

A two games to none lead is great. But the Red Sox were up two games to none on the Mets. The best case scenario for them would be to win at least two of the next three games in St. Louis.

I don't think they're going to be able to get another start out of Curt Schilling. The doctors have been flirting with disaster on that stitching work they've been doing his ankle. Anymore jerry-rigging on that injury could risk permanent damage. Schilling has a lot of guts and determination to play hurt like that. But he doesn't need to risk ending his career prematurely.

The Cardinals are undefeated at home in this postseason. The Red Sox cannot afford to allow the Cards to take two or all three of those games.

Please educate me on the World Series. How many god damn games does a baseball team have to win in order to take home the trophy, cup, or whatever? 190? 300? What the hell? Baseball sucks.
