Man, the pine tar thing brings back memories of George Brett and the great pine tar controversy.

For those who don't know, George Brett (arguably the best player to ever wear a Kansas City Royals uniform) was called out by an umpire after hitting a home run. The reason, pine tar was covering too much of the bat. It was a rule most people concede as comlete bullshit today. It did nothing to help Brett hit home runs (unlike something else such as a corked bat). The opposing team brought up the issue, a group of umps examined the bat and then the head ump called him out. The scene was memorable for the way Brett went completely ape shit. He ran off that bench at those umpires like he was going to kill all of them.

Baseball is stupid. It should immediately be outlawed and anyone who actually enjoys the sport should be fined AND imprisoned.

Well, I must say, I was totally impressed and excited at this last game! Since I was doing my laundry and had nothing better to do, I watched it.

Congrats to the Yankee team for once again proving that George Steinbrenner should not have gotten rid of George Costanza!

More importantly, I am somewhat upset that the Red Sox won since NOW I will have to endure Madamn Moderator's wrath for the next 86 years.

Note: While I will be long gone and dead and rotting in my grave, she will hold a weekly séance to try to contact me to "rub it in".

SHIT! Tell me there is NO hell!

>>> Phil

I'm with Joe. Watching paint dry is way more interesting than watching baseball. In fact I was sitting in my precalculus class last night listening to the instructor explain sines, cosines and tangents and thought to myself, this is much more interesting than watching baseball. I don't even like math either. [sleep]

I'm just pulling your chain Rachel. [evil]

quote from Randy...

If any team can come back from being 3 games down in the league championship and be 3 games ahead in the World Series then STILL LOSE, it would be the Red Sox!

They're gonna' LOSE!

Randy, any comments?
