I had the pleasure of meeting John once at the Drive-In Owners meeting in Buffalo, NY. He was a pleasant and sincere person who loved his work and reflected that feeling. He was as friendly in person as he was on these discussion boards. He was genuinely enthusiastic about his work, which showed in the lecture he presented. A company could have no more dedicated an employee than was John. He always found a way to relate a subject of interest back to products and knowledge specific to Kodak. That was at the same time both fascinating and informative. Each of the "Film-Techers" we've lost over recent years brought unique perspective to our conversations here, and John's was unique. I actually felt a deep loss as if I lost a relative for someone I never met while reading this news. Anne, your dad was a great guy. The fact that he chose to share a little bit of his time with us even when he was in his final days just shows how generous of a man he is. Even after his passing, he is making contributions to the medical community. That's fantastic. He lived a life that was too short for a man capable of contributing even more. But reading his bio and his participation here, he lived life to the fullest. I am very sad to read this because it was very encouraging to hear from him on a regular basis . We are proud to be part of the same forum he participated him. And I am sure you are proud to be his daughter. I regret that I never got to meet your father in person. I relate to how your dad, instead of going into an understandable shell, decided to disclose all the details of his deteriorating condition in a matter of fact manner. It was neither exhibitionistic nor pity seeking. There was positivity oozing out even in those final messages. While I was reading his messages, I was both sad and happy to see him share this stuff. This is indeed very sad news. I never had the pleasure of meeting John in person but we did exchange a few emails. John was a great person and he will be missed both personally and professionally. He will live on in the knowledge he imparted to others through his selflessness and his willingness to help others.
