Hi, it's Anne again. Thank you so much for all your kind words. I talked to Phil Hill yesterday as well. I wanted to share the following info:

My father donated his body to science -- we all hope the medical community will learn more about his cancer this way and be able to help others. There will be a Memorial Mass on:

Saturday, August 25th at 12pm
St. Jerome's Church, 207 South Garfield St, East Rochester, NY 14445

A Celebration of Life get-together will follow at The Daisy Flower Mill at 1880 Blossom Road in Rochester.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the George Eastman House -- we plan to meet with the Eastman House this upcoming week to try to set up a Memorial Fund in John's name.

George Eastman House
900 East Ave
Rochester, NY 14607

Museum hours Saturday are 10am-5pm.

Donations may also be sent to the Lipson Cancer Center, Linden Oaks Medical Complex, Suite 330, 10 Hagen Dr, Rochester, NY 14626 or St. Jerome's Church (address info a few paragraphs above).

Hi Anne,

I'm Very Saddened to hear this news about John. And thank you for the info on the planned Memorial Fund for John.

He will be with us every time we step into a projection booth and do the "Film Done Right" guidelines he gave. He gave us all such valued information on how film should look. Which gave millions of people around the world a true entertainment at the movies.

My Deepest Condolances to your family at this time.

Thanks John for all the help.

RIP

My thought and prayers are with John's family. This is indeed sad news. I met John once at Showest and shared a few drinks. A better man you'll never find. I will remember and treasure that conversation forever.
RIP John.

I am truly saddened by this news... The world is worse place today without him. Like Peter I shared talk and Cheese with John at several F-T nights at Showest.... I will always remember those times...

Johnny we hardly knew you, but the friends you made, the things you did and all that you wrote will last longer than many of us. Thanks for all the counsel, insight and for often setting things straight. You were the champ!

Rest in Peace John.

This is very sad news indeed but we'll always remember not only what John contributed to the industry, but the incredible courage and optimism with which he faced his illness. He will be missed.

I always felt it an honor to be able to communicate with a man like John. I wish I could have known you better like so many on Film-Tech did. Maybe one day we'll meet up more personally. My condolences to your family John. God bless you and them.
