NO one knows how much deeper it really goes below the water. I've been a very good ways down this shaft to the point that the wrungs are dry rottted but not below that point. You have to rappel down the rest of the way... a friend did it last summer and he said it's one of the hottest places he's ever been... The Burj Dubai tower must have one hell of a damping system to keep the building steady in various windy conditions. Without it windows in the higher floors could shatter and water might even slosh out of the toilets. And that would be the least of the problems. I'm not fond of the building's visual design. It's actually kind of ugly looking. But it looks like it has numerous helicopter landing platforms and a very sophisticated elevator system (both might be handy in case an evacuation is needed). Give it another couple years. I'll bet some action movie, maybe a James Bond installment, will have some bad guy falling off that tower. Seems like a natural likelihood.  |  IP: Logged
