Also, that Christie looks ancient. The previous head projectionist lost the second cap(found it shortly after I replaced him). Thankfully I was standing right by the tree when it happened. I've told management several times to please order the Film-Tech media pads when ordering Filmguard. We can't even rewind the media pads in this pic, they have a cardboard core! Not sure about the answer to your zipper question. Every projectionist I have worked with is accustomed to hitting start and waiting for the automation to open the zipper--I just use the dowser and keep the zippers open. We are working with very old equipment, obviously. Management is all about saving money. Corporate bought the equipment off of eBay when this location opened. They care more about their labor reports than they do the true reason for their business. They keep cutting projectionists to save labor percentage. If it doesn't come directly from the AV Manager then it isn't approved by management. The AV Manager likes the Kelmar pads and better yet, CPI FILM CLEANER(!), whereas I argue weekly that we need to be using Film-Tech Pads and Cleaner. But, like I said, if it doesn't come from the AV Manager, it doesn't happen--probably one of the biggest downsides to working at a dinner and movie theater(the lobby and kitchen come first, projection comes last).  |  IP: Logged Steve Guttag We forgot the crackers Gromit!!! Probably one of the better things they made...I still use mine for aligning consoles to the current P35-GPS...and yes, all of the registration pins are still dead on! Working at your specific BRAND of dinner theaters does. And Joe is right, the Kelmar pads (particularly the green) are significantly more expensive than the FT pads. It sounds like your company put as much money into your AV tech as they did your ebay equipment. Why? Because the presentation was so horrible no one would spend anything for admittance. The lobby and kitchen aren't exactly bit items on the marquee. The dinner theater part has nothing to do with the condition of the presentation.
