And it only seems fair that non-whites should lose their jobs, reputations, etc. if they say "honky" or any other white-oriented racial slur. But us crackers have never pressed the issue because all of us -um, well nearly all of us, really don't care. Not many negative stereotypes about being white. My family was one of those rounded up and herded into the stables there for about six months - before being sent off to the concentration camps at Manzanar (CA) and Amache (CO). For Tim, LOL! Only in name Tim, only in name. I am what is known in JA circles as a "tamago" (egg) - white on the outside, yellow on the inside. Now that everyone on my dad's side has "flown west" I am free to assume my real family name - Kawasumi. The last one in the US. Almost the last one in Japan too! As soon as I have enough money to file the paperwork. Soon! FWIW, I'll take "Indian Summer" anytime. 70 degrees and sunny in December is fantastic. Afternoon highs in the 60s aren't bad either.  |  IP: Logged
