She was named after the cat in Gummo, who was in turn named after the Shaggs song. Wow, I'm surprised anyone else has heard of that. It's a screwed up song.

Dan, I learned of that train wreck known as The Shaggs through the 1991 book, The Worst Rock 'n' Roll Records of All Time but did not actually understand just how endearingly horrid they were until I heard the "My Pal Foot-Foot" clip on the Web site I referenced in my last post. Thirty-five-plus years since they first recorderd an album, I think The Shaggs should still serve as a reminder to children everywhere the perils of overblown parental expectations.

Enough of that...here are my "dogs", Flashlight and Cinema...
