Brad,
Did they get any results back on the tissue samples they took from Crash?

Next week sometime.

Meanwhile a trip to the vet today showed that one of them is sick with a fever. We knew he wasn't eating or pooping, so I ran both of them over to let the vet to give them a full checkover. We have to give them medication for a few days and all should be fine. Meanwhile we have to massage their butts with a warm moist towel several times a day to get them to poop. Apparently mama cats do this by licking their butt until they poop. The vet's assistant said she massaged their butts and a flood of poop came out, so apparently both of them were quite constipated. I guess the foster mother who was taking care of them didn't know about that.

Plus we have to feed them fake mama milk every 3 hours and other such things since they are so young. Even though they are indoor cats, with the fever I went out and got a special bed to keep them warm as well as a space heater (strategically placed up high where they cannot get at it or the cord) that maintains a certain elevated temperature in the room they are in to keep them extra warm. It's worth it though. They are both very sweet and loving. [Smile]

So we gave them names, Link (as in Hairspray) and Marty (as in McFly). Link was the one with the fever that I posted about 3 days ago. We got medication from the vet and the next day he started bouncing around healthy as could be. Unfortunately Marty started spiraling downward and has a number of problems (we just thought he was more of a quiet lap cat). Marty is now at the emergency room vet on an IV since this morning and according to the last call from the doctor he is greatly improving and should be able to come home tomorrow. [Smile]

Meanwhile, Link is either a spazz or asleep!

Oh dear; this really is a run of bad luck. Very sorry.

Good to see that Link looks pretty contented and healthy ... even if he does appear not to like cameras very much!

Brad, I'm so sorry to hear about your cats.

I haven't checked this thread for a while and am stunned at your misfortune. [Frown] My heart goes out to you, and I know that Link will get plenty of love and attention.

We can't control the quantity of our animal friends' lives, but we can do something about the quality. [Smile]
