The reason I checked it out and posted the image and link is because Brad's original made it look as though someone (Google?) had used a Photoshop clone stamp to hide something. The image I posted shows the same area covered by trees, but it doesn't appear to have a clone stamp applied. When I see screwed up photos like that I imagine the people and sequence of events that altered the photo into that goofy arrangement. Basically, you have a magazine editor or other decision making people involved in the "food chain" with absolutely NO CLUE about concepts of geometry and aspect ratio. He has a box on a page where he wants the photo displayed. Despite the size and shape of that box he wants the lady's face big enough in the box. But let's make sure we see some of her leg so it might make someone get a raging boner. They hand off that laundry list of impractical shit to the designer like he's some pizza delivery guy. Impossible you say? Just use that "intelligent scaling" feature in Photoshop CS4. That's why we upgraded! By the way, make sure the end result looks "professional." The designer walks away muttering under his breath, "yeah, I'll make it look professional. While I'm at it, I'll just jot down the mathematical formulas that solve the Grand Unification Theory and make cold fusion possible. I'll bring about world peace with one phone call.
