Hi Mark...yes, yes, yes-----I'm interested in some 833's. Not sure the ones that came with this thing have a lot of life left in them. No waggle in this game! No polygons, either. The transmitter came from WAKE in Valparaiso, Indiana. They are a 1 KW daytime station using a two tower directional array on 1500 kHz. The transmitter was removed from service several years ago after being replaced with a more modern solid state rig. It was in storage at a friend's who removed it from service. Currently it's in the clean up - paint up phase of restoration. Electrical work will come after getting it to look good. I have been told, however, that it was working when removed. It's gonna need some sickly low level electrolytics and a few hot looking resistors replaced at a minimum. I'll keep you informed as to progress. Two are brand new unopened and two are opened but brand new. The two sealed are military tubes. He wants 95.00 each for them. Bill (The Tube Man) just turned 90 last week!!! Much closer to the broadcast band than 75 M. I can get it onto 160 without major surgery to the driver circuit and final. This tx was on 1.5 mHz to start with, so the conversion is fairly simple. The process of getting it running, as I see it, is as follows: get it going on it's origianl frequency of 1500 kHz., then move it up to 1880 kHz in the 160 M band (where I hang out alot)...after establishing it is good and relaible on 160, then possibly figure a way to bandswitch it to 75 M. 73 Jeff W9GY  |  IP: Logged John Wilson Film God Posts: 5438 From: Sydney, Australia. Watched Hot Fuzz last night.
