Since my earlier post, I _have_ run Super Simplexes in a theatre and, like Aaron said, they suck, unless you like oily messes. I have also acquired a pair of practically mint-condition Century SAs (complete with older ISCO scope lenses, which focus down to 17'). I've also worked with various other types of equipment.
I really like Century Cs, SAs, and JJs. I also like Simplex X-Ls/PR-1014s and Kinoton FP30s. I'm not especially fond of Cinemeccanica V5s, Super Simplexes, or MP-30 portables. I have not (yet?) worked with Brenkerts or Norelcos.
My current "most hated machine" is the Prevost 16mm (P-16?), though I am sure that Gordon will pop in here to defend it. Maybe they work better in Canada.
