Thankfully the DCPs are encrypted. We just had a horribly packed print of the Hunger Games; clearly the last house to have it didn't understand that headers protect the outermost layer of film... they were loose next to the print in each can! BTW, brace yourself for some downright awful film mixing. (Set your faders to 7.) 0:26 - Shitty film splicing starts with a junk splicer. 0:32 - When "inspecting" the film, be sure to rub your fingers on the image area of the film. 0:37 - Always let the end of the roll of film slap around a little bit for that "changeover" effect. 0:54 - Be sure to throw that leader directly onto the floor, because we wouldn't want the audience to see a clean first trailer. 3:04 - This was an early take of proper film handling, and is probably how most of the film was handled at this location. 3:10 - Remember folks YELLOW TAPE, to show everyone what a professional you are. 5:00 - The customer noticed the improvement in your picture when you switched to digital because you completely SUCKED at handling film.  |  IP: Logged Martin McCaffery Film God Posts: 2481 From: Montgomery, AL Registered: Jun 99 posted 07-06-2012 08:19 AM                        you forget to mention the fake scratches at the beginning and end of the video to make it seem more film like.  |  IP: Logged Tony Bandiera Jr Film God Posts: 3067 From: Moreland Idaho Registered: Apr 2004 posted 07-06-2012 11:17 PM                     Re: The video Brad posted 1: WTF was that server? Tony, that server is a Dell and it is running Access IT software. As for the screen / keyboard, that's a Dell 1 rack unit: http://accessories.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=ca&l=en&s=dhs&cs=cadhs1&sku=310-7919 BTW, that screen is adjustable, but as shown in the video it's at full extension.
