Are we still arguing the more intricate delicacies of Star Wars?

I've seen it ... it's decent ...

what i didn't like was the droids having feelings and broken english. when r2d2 is hiding from the bad droids in the begining, the bad droids hear obi won asking r2d2 stop the elavator. one droids asks "what was that". the other repsonds "nutting over there". or something stupid. these are droids, broken english shouldn't be part of their programing, after all Data from star trek can't use contractions.

what was up with a general antroid grevious. he was just stupid and giving him organs, can anyone explain that? what the dark side corupted him?

when yoda tells obi won he knows away to talk to liam nelsons character, yoda gets the idea from the emporer. the emporer tells anakin there is a way to stop death. this is what yoda means. the first time we see obi won "dead" is in "Empire strikes back". meaning yoda taught obi won away to come back to live. threw the force.

i also questioned the leia remembering her mother, but dave's comment made sense. but how is luke growing up with anakin's brother. that makes no sense. we all know anakin was born by the force. makes no sense.

i have a theory about anakin being born by the force. when the emporer tells anakin that there was a powerful sith lord who taught him the ways of the dark side. emperor tells anakin about the stopping of death and creating life. so my theaory is the evil sith lord went to some plant and wanted to have an offspring. so he finds this chick waves his magic force thing and creates anakin. he wanted to have an offspring, knowing that the emperor would eventually kill him. hell maybe anakin in this sith lord reborn.

Watch Star Wars: Clone Wars. It picks up where Star Wars: Episode II: Attack of the Clones left off.

Yoda doesn't get the idea from Palpatine. He never hears him say that to Anakin for one, and he gets the idea because he has already talked to Qui Gon... it's in the book, and a deleted scene.

Owen is Anakin's step brother. Owen's dad, Klieg Lars, married Anakin's mother Shmi Skywalker. Hense Owen's line to Anakin in EP II "...I gues that makes me your step brother."

Actually I think it's more, Palpatine killed Darth Plageus and took over the plans he had to take over the republic. Sidious' master taught him everything he knew and Sidious then killed him in his sleep... yet before he leared the secret of stopping one from dying???? That's where deception comes in. He never kept those he loved from dying... or at least not very likely.

The whole manipulation on this point was started in EP II when Anakin tells Padme "Someday I'll even be able to keep people from dying."

It is of course possible that Sidious created Anakin instead of Plageus but I doubt that because we've seen where Sidious is very relient on everyone else to do the work for him.

Kevin, how can this be a deleted scene? did u read this some where. i believe u when u say it's in the book. the reason i put yoda gets the idea from Palpatine is becasue, he is able to feel what Palpatine is thinking.

If they mentioned Klieg Lars in Episode II, i missed it. it
stills seam like a weak part in the story.

I still like my idea about Darth Plageus creating Anakin. it brings more of the balance to the force. the irony is if evil Darth Plageus created evil Anakin, his job was to have "good" offspring and over throw evil Palpatine, killing the last evil power in the universe, which is what happens.

It can be a deleted scene because the editors and GL decided the movie was too long and it wasn't all that important since it's implied??? lol. I dunno really. But, Liam Neeson was brought in from what I understand to do a scene which obviously is not in the movie and there has been much discussion about his apparent cut scene.

Klieg is the guy in EP II who had lost his leg. He bought Shmi, freed here and married her. Watto tells Anakin this when he arrives back on Tattoine and then Klieg tells Anakin about the sand people abducting his mother. It's a rather large part of the movie. It leads him to go rescue his mother and eventually slaughter her abductors. He then later tells Padme that he slaughtered them all and that he hates them. He then says the VERY important line when Padme tells him that he's not all powerfull..."Well I should be! Someday I will be! I'll even be able to keep people from dying."

Of course whether Plageus or Sidious created Anakin isn't spelled out for us unless it is in the book or a cut scene so you could be right. I for one think Plageus created Anakin as well and Sideous rode the coatails of his former master's brilliant takeover plan. Niether one of them created Anakin with the intent on bringing balance to the force. Whichever one created him it was to subvert the prophecy. Yet, when an event is designed to happen by whichever power dictates the flow of the univers, and it absolutely will happen... whatever you do, even if it's to keep it from happening, will in fact be the thing that brings it about or be totally insignificant alltogether.

Also, Anakin isn't created to be good or bad. He, like all of us, is a product of his environment. He is good until he loses all reason because of a dream that even he should have been able to see could have been a manipulation. The same cloud that hindered the Jedi council was manipulating his dreams. And, since he confided in that manipulator, plus the fact that his feelings were an easy read for that manipulator, Sideous would have no trouble conviniently staging the abduction of Shmi.

If he was created to be bad, then Sideous wouldn't need to go to such great lengths to seduce him. It just made his destiny a little more once sided since strings were being pulled even to his very creation.

If I had "the force" I would use it to obliterate everyone who uses "u" when they mean "you." Geez I hate that.

OK, back 2 the d-b8.

How come these big-brained Jedi guys selected an obvious borderline personality to be "The Chosen One"?

And then of course, they deliberately messed with his head with that "we don't accept you" or whatever it was.

That would have been just the moment to shift gears into a Tarantino sci-fi movie.

Palpatine is not actually Palpatine. It was just an assumed identity. Sidious is as old as Yoda is, and Plageous was the sith lord who ruled the universe 800 years previously. Sidious killed him during the jedi uprising and then went into hiding on Degobah.

The medecloreans created anakin to destroy the sith lord sideous. Anakin eventually did that.

Assuming by Degobah you mena Dagobah, that would mean that he hid out on the same planet Yoda did later. If that is true, it would be even more idiotic than hiding Luke under his father's name on his father's home planet.
Man, why didn't Lucas hire some really good scriptwriters like he did for 5 and 6? Gosh!!

Vader and Sidious did not know the children survived. They would not know to look for them period, hence it was safe on tattoine as the Huts controlled the planet with little presence by the empire.

As for however the hell Degobah is spelled, yes, that is where Sidious would have been. It is a planet that is clouded with both sides of the force, and very hard it would be to sense anyone hiding there.

And to further my claim that Sidious is 900 years old like Yoda, at no time did anyone in the jedi order know of sidious's name, only his existence. However, when Yoda pays a visit to the new emporer he says... "...or should I say, Darth Sidious?" to which the emperor replys... "Master Yoda......Ive been waiting a long time for this..."

Yoda trained the knights of and created the jedi order, and led the uprising to destroy the sith. It was sidious who killed plageaus the wise in his sleep during the uprising and then fled to degobah to hide and refine his skills.

Taking several forms throughout the ages he eventually found himself able to conceal his true nature as the sith lord and was able to destroy the order that Yoda had created.

For every plot hole I have a bucket of plot plaster. You can point out how stupid Lucas is until you are blue in the face, which changes nothing. He has created the most successful film franchise in history and nothing will ever compare.

Yes we all would have liked them to be better. The problem is we are all comparing these to the original, and lets face it, that was a fluke.

You either like it or you don't, really simple. Those who don't like it are in two categories, the ones who dont care and the ones who want to point out to us how stupid we are for falling for this crap.

So how much harm will it do for anyone to fork out 10 bucks to see a film. About as much harm as filling your gas tank, or buying a gallon of milk and a box of apple jacks. You work for an hour and you too can spend it on whatever damn film you want, and someone somewhere will think you are stupid for doing it.

Star wars was a great film. It's follow up Empire was amazing and a cult phenomenon. Jedi was very good, but just didn't have the same impact that we had hoped that Empire had, however it did a very good job of finishing the story.

Then the prequels. Phantom was very good, not great, just very good. Clones seemed to drift with pointless story lines that had nothing at all to do with anything ever, just wasting time to get to the yoda saber fight.

Now to this review, Revenge of the Sith. I have now viewed this three times.

I will admit I was just stumped as to the enormous number of holes and crap and bad acting and jumping around. I was out there ripping it. It wasn't until the second viewing that it all actually hit. Then the third viewing just sealed the deal.

This is the third best of the six. It is very very good, not quite as great as the original and its follow up, but great in its own way. It even helped to make the last film feel like a distant memory. I was very impressed and will see it again.

I have as much star wars knowledge as any star wars geek and can take on any plot hole theories, however I have a job and like to get paid, so until I get paid for my version of events, I am done with this star wars crap.

How the hell did I get into this anyway? Oh yeah, I was a kid once and I liked experiencing a fantasy, as this was meant to be.

Yes it is a kids show, for kids of all ages. So instead of growing up, age down a bit and go have some fun. Let go of reality and don't have a stroke over it.

Ciao

Are you guys feeling ok? I hate to use the "n" word, but really, you guys are a bunch of NERDS!!!

In the spirit of Star Wars geeks around the world, I hereby dictate that all future non-review posts on this thread discussing various loopholes in the plot shall be written in Yoda'eze. [Cool]

Great post David...

I love the depths of the story as much as any geek out there, but when I was a kid I didn't know a Dark Lord of The Sith from a hole in the ground. All I knew was that Darth Vader looked like a black Lamborghini on steroids and the bad dude from Conan did his voice.

It was just a fun set of movies. They captivated me and still do. That's why I want the original theatrical versions to be released on DVD with thier original mix(well, one of the original three mixes or the THX mix that combined the three very well) and the option of the 5.1 mix. I don't want cleaned up visuals, or any other money to be spent. Just package them up and send em out. lol

With that, Sith and Phantom both captured that feel that I was captivated by as a kid. Phantom felt grandoise and romantic(EPIV) and Sith felt dark and dirty (EPV). Clones is now my least fave of all of them because it was a bit too slick for the dark undertones happening. But, even at that, when Obi Wan jumped out the window and grabbed the droid... I thought, "That's what I've always envisioned a jedi in his prime being like..." Seeing them back at the farm was amazing and it being the worst of the six to me it's still very enjoyable.

Sure, George came out with a plothole or two... who doesn't? The fact is, he completed the story and so many things in the originals are even more powerful now than ever. All I want is to sit and enjoy the movies and if that's uncool... then I'm just uncool.

Oh, it's always funny to see someone make fun of another's spelling and mispell the very next word they type. LOL [Wink]
