I received a jar of Vegemite from Paul Cunningham. Paul, what do you want in return in particular? NOTE: Something that I can find in a US supermarket, Please!

TASTE TEST:

I did not sample it by itself!

I decided to try it on bread with butter first. As I smeared it on the bread, I noticed it spreads like chocolate frosting. I spread some real butter on the other half and ate it. Its really salty, but I understand why you guys like it, because I like it. A Little Bit Goes A Long Way... like FilmGuard

The NEXT CLINICAL EXPERIMENT involved LESS Vegemite and peanut butter on white bread. The results were the same. I like this stuff.

I thank you Paul, for going to the trouble of sending me this jar. PLUS the cool Kangaroo sticker and Vegemite sticker.

I was planning to do the tasting in front of the camcorder, but decided not to. Its getting stormy outside and its too dark to get good results in natural light.

Besides, I was afraid that I would barf on camera. That would be an embarassment.

I am going to try Vegemite on some friends. I assume that I need to refrigerate it after opening?

PS: Now I'm on my home computer I find out that what Paul has told me is indeed correct. A boppy version of the Vegmite jingle comes on every time you open the vegemite topic! (At work I have no speakers Brad so I was unaware of your endeavour.)

If anyone else wants some Vegemite to try, let me know and I'll mail you some so you don't feel left out of Bruce's fun.

I like Vegemite. I dont LIKE it, but, I do like it.

I also like Moon Pies (both flavors) and Royal Crown cola, but, I dont want to live on them.

I made a cassette of the Vegemite song to play for my boss and others.

I'm amazed how many people have heard of the word Vegemite from the old Men At Work song, but have no idea what the product actually is.

I fed my boss a tiny amount of the product yesterday. Yes, I am still employed. Here in the southeast, we have an old phrase that describes the look on his face when the Vegemite hit his tongue:

"A Mule Eating Briars."

Must be good stuff. Until yesterday, we had a 1989 delivery van that was falling apart. Today, we have a 2000 van with air conditioning! I LOVE Vegemite!

I'm glad you liked the Vegemite Bruce, there is nothing really that I want from over there, I noticed Moon cakes for sale in our local supermarket the other day, didn't buy any though.

John's right, the Fosters is a furphy, only tourists drink it. VB is the biggest selling brand of beer in australia, close behind would have to be Carlton Draught and Coldies.
