Ahhh just got a full 90 minute Jeff boot from Germany. The quality and performance is great. I can point you in the direction if you want. Seeing Radiohead in Toronto next month. Cant wait. It is good to see some other people that are into Buckley. Allmost everyone that I know I have had to turn them on to.

I usually get a CD and rip the tunes I like onto my computer and then burn CD-Rs for use on car trips. Radio stations are too variable except for select few that I pick up on my travels. When you are driving through the mountains you can forget about radio. CDs can save you from going crazy. (Or, in my case.... crazier!)

Well, lately I have been spinning some Patty Loveless CDs. So kill me that it is country music. She trounces Faith Hill and Shania Twain put together. Maybe I am biased. I have a bunch of her CDs. I watched her put on a really great live set Friday night on Fort Sill at the Polo Field (along with other country acts like John Michael Montgomery). Great Show. Her rendition of "Here I Am" literally had the tears welling up. Patty Loveless is the best female country singer alive --if not the best overall. There is just no substitute. That redheaded lady knows how to sing great and put on a great show.

And I am not really a country music fan either. I usually listen to very hard stuff. Some of the latest CDs I spin in my home theater system or at work include:

Actually, it burns me up every time I hear a rap song whose background music is a familiar rock song from a former decade. Often, they actually remake a song and change the words. Remember the song "Angel of the Morning" by Merilee Rush? There is a version of that one out now that is quite different.

Bad rock remakes are bad, too. A couple of years ago, someone redid "Last Kiss" by J. Frank Wilson and the Cavaliers (1964). The new version invokes visions of someone singing while being dragged behind a car up the road. Why don't they just leave the old classics alone and come up with something new.

I didn't mind the song "A.M. Radio" by whoever did it, which used the background of "Mr. Big Stuff", since the song was talking about listening to such songs on the A.M. radio back in the 1970s.
