I must have missed this topic the first time around. But now, I'll throw down...Rush..."the thinking man's rock band" For me, they are three very talented musicians. It's very interesting to listen to their music evolve over the years. And although there are a lot of "classic Rush" snobs, I enjoy music from all of their different "moods". I thought Geddy Lee's solo project was very good and I am looking forward to the stuff they are recording now. There is a question I have had for a long time that has really been bugging me. I hope someone can help.What is the difference between "Rock" and "Alternative?" Zeta (WZTA) in Miami is a Rock station. They play bands like Tool, Creed, Guns n Roses, Korn, Limp Bizkit, Rage, Linkin Park, Ozzy, Rob Zombie, Aerosmith, NIN, Smashing Pumpkins, Motley Crue, and of course Metallica, just to name a few. As you can see, it is a nice mix of new and old. A lot of the old you would even find on your "Classic Rock" stations. When I moved across the state to Fort Myers, the only station close to Zeta was 99X (WJBX), which is an Alternative station. They often use the term "new rock alternative," and in fact their full name is New Rock 99X. They play a lot of what Zeta plays -- Smashing Pumpkins, Limp Bizkit, Creed, Rage, Korn, NIN, and Metallica. But they also blay bands like Third Eye Blind, Matchbox 20, Counting Crows, etc.... One day I called them and asked if they could play Paradise City, and they said they don't play Guns n Roses because they are not considered Alternative. Well what the heck makes Metallica Alternative? (I always thought Metallica and Guns n Roses were the same format: heavy metal.) I guess basically what I'm getting at is, why do you find some bands only on Alternative stations, others only on Rock stations, and others on both? I don't get it. Now I live near Orlando, and the Rock station WJRR just changed to alternative. Bye bye Aerosmith. Bye bye Guns n Roses. Bye bye Ozzy. Hello Jimmy Eat World. Hello Hoobastank. Etc... Yes, I love Alternative, but I like Rock also. Now we have 2 Alternative stations (we already had one) and no Rock stations.  ------------------

Anyone here heard/seen Paul McCartney's CD "RUN DEVIL RUN" ?If you like good old 50s R&B it is a fantasic CD. For you people that remember records, the CD is a real hoot. It was silk screened to look like a "45" with the old Capitol purple label. And where the RPM label goes, instead of "45 RPM" it says "1500 RPM" I can't remember that last time I enjoyed a new record so much...and the liner notes are lengthy...I can't believe I didn't hear about the CD before now...it came out in 1999. owners of cinemas' chain where i work just wanna get more money, then they punish customers 
with a CD recorded from a FM radio. All the day the poor costumers hears a man speaking about FM programs and they only can get a little bit of a song...i've had that CD for six months! since the theater was opened. i think if i take out the CD from CD player, it'll continue playing it!!
