I have a wide range of musical tastes, but it all starts back again with The Beatles. . .They are absolutesly no doubt the greatest band in the world (in my opinion that is). . . as for the other end of the spectrum? ? ?

Excuse me while I place The White Album next to The Eminem Show. . .

Boom, Boom, Boom. . . you hear that? I like that too.

Does anyone have a 10 gauge shotgun I could borrow to turn off the 1,000,000,000,000,000,000-Watt subwoofers in those little red Honda Civic automobiles that seem to specialize in playing potty-mouth RAP?

Or, any RAP for that matter....

I would sooner listen to a cow that has a bad case of gas....

I like just about anything except rap, opera, death metal, industrial noise, whiney country and the Dixie Chicks. (Jeeez, they are annoying...anyone who can do that much damage to Fleetwood Mac's "Landslide" oughta have their microphone cords cut).

I think almost all of my favorites have been listed except one:

Sergio Mendes & Brasil '66 (or '77). The album "Primal Roots" is a masterpiece, way ahead of its time.

Was also surprised to see someone list Talk Talk, another favorite of mine. Ditto, the Alan Parsons Project. And, Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass.

Last week, I visited several department & home furnishing stores, mall-based & free-standing, looking for a wooden ironing board to modify for use as an A/V stand.

I am about to BARF oldies. Oldies in the mall muzak, oldies in the store muzak, walk from the oldies in the store out into the oldies in the mall, oldies in the shopping center stores. Who are these people that can listen to the same songs OVER & OVER FOR TWENTY YEARS?

It's all that female 25-54 target demo stuff, for the shopping demo, but DAMN.

HAVEN'T YOU GOT HOTEL CALIFORNIA & TRUE BY SPANDAU BALLET MEMORIZED BY NOW?

To be fair, I'm listening to radio wazee & Cake has come on, & I can't help but think that their picking up a brief case of food poisoning at Captain D's might make them more rounded & me happier.

I found a Tennessee Ernie Ford spiritual album at the Salvation Army yesterday. The man could really sing, and the back-up singers could really belt it out. It's a keeper.

One of the people at work just loves rap. When I asked what they are mad about in the 'music,' he just laughed and told me that I am too old to understand. I hate rap even more now. [Mad]

It's generation gaps...my grandmother hates rock n' roll while my mother loves and and grew up on it. My mother hates hip hop/rap dance music while thats what I grew up on! [Smile]

While I will admit my choice in music has changed over the years, it tends (not always!) to be an age thing.

Me and Don get along pretty good with music but everynight he puts on that damn 80's music channel and drives me nuts! I was only a baby when that stuff came out...

ahhh... 80's music... fun stuff, just not all the time. Rachel - I'm not that much older than you, but maybe that wee bit alters my recollection & appreciation... hmm

Well, I guess I'll jump into this one... I enjoy all sorts of music.

My favourites:
-No Doubt. Definitely No Doubt is my favourite. My favourite albums were Tragic Kingdom and Rock Steady.
-The White Stripes. Just got into them. I bought Elephant.. I Wander where it went?
-Marilyn Manson. Ok.. Spare me the critisism... I like his music and mostly everyone I talk to doesn't mind his Tainted Love rendition.
-Bif Naked... From Winnipeg! [Big Grin]

Well, thats what I listen to most often.
