Kiwi born, living in South London for 12 years. There seems to be New Zealanders everywhere ! Did anywhere else in the world have wooden shipping spools ?

Hi Peter,

Dunno about spools but we had wooden cores here at least until the mid-50s. I've come across film elements (both prints and pre-print elements) which were wound on a wooden core with the same bore diameter and flange cutout as a 16mm or 35mm plastic core has nowadays.

Hi from Ljubljana, Slovenia!

I work in Kinodvor - an art cinema in the center of Ljubljana that have opened recently (just 3 months ago). Well, actually in this building was the first cinema in our city but now it is renovated.

I'll post some pics as soon as I get digital camera - you'll love it! I do! [Smile]

See ya!

Michael, the things here in Italy are really differents that in southamerica (cinema). In Venezuela We made always tilted and curved screens, but I've not seen a tilt curved screen yet and I've heard that isn't used to make on that way.
By the other hand, Ho freddo!!! it's so cold!!! I'm used to be over 13 degrees celsius, but now I'm under ZERO! and I'm shaking my teeths...
I like Italy, the trains, the weather, the girls... hehe.
Greetings from Italy,
German.
