I'm Ari Nordström and live in Göteborg, Sweden, where I'm the head projectionist at the Draken cinema. This should mean at least four Swedes at Film Tech, even though I know of at least one more lurking around... Why are Australia and New Zealand in a combined category and then separated? And why is the sentence "THE AMERICAS (EXCEPT USA) " grouped in with the New Zealand category? Oceania is a "region" much like "North America" generally covers Canada and Alaska as well, where as the USA only covers the 51 states. Apparently there are differing ideas of what a continent actually is. All those models do combine Australia and New Zealand into one continent. I think NZ alone wouldn't be enough to make a whole continent. In school in Germany I learnt the 5 continent model: Europe, Asia, America, Africa, Australia. Somehow they always forgot NZ or maybe they didn't think all the islands like NZ or in the Pacific didn't belong to a continent, I don't remember. North and South America form a continuous land mass and should be seen as one continent, I think. Even though the connection in the middle is very thin. My guess from its motion since Pangea is that unless Sam Chavez & Mark Gulbrandsen get busy & design & fabricate a bracket for it, South America when it breaks off will get all jammed up between North America & Africa. You will see that South America has always drifted away from Africa towards the bottom left corner of the Earth. This has first been noted as a problem during the Cretaceous when, as you can see, South America was separate from North America which itself is not in danger because it is attached to the Arctic which has a solid connection to the Earth. That's when they decided to attach South America to the Northern part. A similar problem faces Australia, but since it is a relatively small continent with only a few people and some very funny-looking animals living there, it isn't really so important. Its only function is that counterbalances the left side a little. So eventually, when it gets too close to the Earth's edge, they will probably attach it to Asia with a cable or something similar. Africa doesn't face these problems because it is in the middle of the Earth. I´m Thomas Jonsson, and I live in Kristianstad in the south of Sweden. The town was Danish until late 16-hundreds, named after Danish king Kristian with "stad"(town) added. I run a single theater in nearby town Bromolla. The auditorium is THX certified with all digital sound systems. Could also run 70mm until about 7 years ago. Thomas  |  IP: Logged Kristin H. Should I mention that my ex is from berlin?....better not Anyway, I am a part time projectionist since 2001 when I came to frankfurt for Student purposes. Since then I learn by every day that, although U thought U made every possible mistake on projection, there will be still some left, which U had not to cope with, since they happen.
