As seems to be quite common on this forum I too have an acute fondness for good beer which thankfully we DO have in the UK if one cares to look for it. Anyone visiting Manchester and in need of a good pub (and if new to the UK an example of what a real pub should look like) ought to check out The Kings on Bloom Street (head towards Salford down Bridge Street). Belgian beer is also particularly fine I'd have to say. Friends lived in Maastricht (in the netherlands, close to the Belgian border) for some time and there's a truly exceptional bar there (they referred to it as 'Mad Pete's', don't know its real name) that has literally hundreds of Belgian beers. Best part - the owner won't let you just pick a beer off the menu if you haven't been before, you have to describe what flavour you want (and in some detail) and he recommends...true innovation in barmanship I call it! No longer do we have to just keep our ear to the ground to find out whats happening. One day we might hear from some Asian film-techers too. I read that IMAX is opening three locations in China. Likewise a map of the US and Canada, showing the same. A large segment also includes many who moved to the islands from the U.S. mainland because they were sick and tired of shoveling show every winter. Hawaii is the only state that was once a independent kingdom with a king and a queen. In fact the Iolani Palace where they lived is the only former royal palace in the United States.
