Monte, I'll wager they don't KNOW the entire story. I got into an email exchange with someone who was selling 5-bladed shutters several years ago and tried to explain to him why telecine wasn't as simple as just changing the shutter. He didn't want to hear it. Btw, I apologize if I sounded like I was talking down to you.
Allison.. $10 is a steal. Get an 8-ohm home stereo speaker, some speaker wire, and attach a 1/4" phone plug to the end. Should work fine with that projector. I have a B&H 1574. Manual thread, because I WANTED it like that. Been ages since I've had it out, though. (Now, where did I PUT that thing?) Btw, you should collect B-Westerns. You can get most of those on one reel!
