Author Topic: Upload your random pictures (part 3) Hillary Charles Jedi Master Film Handler Posts: 748 From: York, PA, USA Registered: Feb 2001 posted 09-08-2007 08:31 AM                     Tim, that engine is the B&O's William Mason, being restored in the Strasburg, PA shop several years ago for the Wil Smith movie "Wild Wild West." After it was sent out west, it got the final "Wanderer" paint job. A friend of mine was on the restoration team and got me access to the shop during the process. It's the oldest operating steam locomotive in the country, and has also appeared in "Raintree County" and "Gods and Generals." It also played the famous Civil War locomotive "General" in the Disney film, "The Great Locomotive Chase." I'm guessing Mike, that your Lionel is of the General. Black boiler and red cab and cowcatcher, with a tender that reads "W & A R R"? That IS a classic Lionel engine.  |  IP: Logged Scott Norwood Film God Posts: 8146 From: Boston, MA. Usually found in gardens across North America. {EDIT} It is actually a Leucocoprinus birnbaumii. I found this out after doing a different type of search for Mushrooms. I have an interest in mushrooms because when I was a kid my dad used to take me on trips to central Ohio where we would run into a bunch of people from France who were searching for the "Morchella" mushrooms (morels). I inherited it from my grandfather. The thing is almost 50 years old and still runs like new - it even has the original headlight bulb. That is what ws in our first film chain. We had to have a small projector shooting a frame of light on the outside edges of the target to keep the flare down. One of our local ham radio operators had a live camera with one of those in it. Worked really great on a blinding bright sunny day. our TP-15 projectors both ran on 3 phase 220. Lauderdale, FL, USA Registered: Jun 2001 posted 09-11-2007 10:24 AM                     I am old enough to remember going to WSUN Channel 38 in St. Petersburg in my mid teens watching the iconoscope slide film chains in operation + (2) RCA TP16 projectors on more modern black and white vidicons. This was a station that had (1) TS-5 switcher to run the programming...they where knocked off the air one day when a drink was spilled on the switcher board  |  IP: Logged
