As You can see, this one was "caught" on a bunch of tickets, and helped back to the pond in my neighbours garden. It never came back....

Here's the unedited edition of yesterday's "Dennis the Menace" comic strip:

 -

Something about it just seems... creepy. What's Dennis and his dad got going on?

Dennis the Menace is a product of the '50s, I guess the innocence of it is sort of out of place here in the dirty-minded '00s.

What happened to the "Menace" part? That's more like a "Family Circus."

I presume this Dennis the Menace must have some connection to the character in the Scottish comic The Beano, of which I was an avid reader growing up in the '70s. Some of the strips in today's issues are still quite funny, but the political incorrectness of the '70s and '80s issues (e.g. corporal punishment and not-so-subtle hints that Dennis's arch-rival, Walter the Softy, is gay) has been relentlessly censored out of it.

Meanwhile...

I think perhaps Jessica needs a bit more space between her eyes.

So, how did the censored version of the Dennis cartoon read?
