Now, I know that some of them floated already over here in the last couple of years, but heard that they were used and not adjusted for US regulations..or such. Mark  |  IP: Logged Leo Enticknap Film God Posts: 7474 From: Loma Linda, CA Registered: Jul 2000 posted 08-25-2007 04:03 AM                        They never really caught on here, probably because they were pretty expensive to buy (even for the price of a 2-3 year old Smart you could have a brand new Fiesta or Clio, say), got a reputation for being unreliable and are effectively useless if more than one person needs to go anywhere (you can just about get two people in one, but forget about any luggage). Fuel economy is slightly better than your average supermini, but at 55mpg ish, no better than one with a diesel engine in it. (I read that as sarcasim) I love my Fiats, we own a 1970 Fiat 124 special and a 1978 X1/9. I am thinking very much of buying one of the new 500s, tonnes of features and engine specification you can choose from. Fiats pretty much fell apart running around on US roadways. Citroen one of the hottest European automakers and have one of the greatest lineup of vehicles available. Just too bad this line doesn't come over here to the States anymore. Citroen's 1960's lineup included their famouse "DS" line, with the example below: Vehicle was very aerodynamically for it's day, had all disc brakes, adustable hydralic suspension to city to road driving to make it very confortable to drive and be a passenger in due to the placement of the wheel at the corners of the vehicle, and the most unique thing about the "DS" line that the underside of the vehicle was almost completely flat since this vehicle was front wheel drive - to aid in the aerodynamics during travel.
